303 grade stainless steel is called the automaton of stainless steel. This stainless steel grade is the highest grade among the austenitic stainless steels in terms of machinability due to its sulfur content. On the other hand, sulfur reduces the corrosion resistance of the material. The corrosion resistance of the material is lower than 304 quality stainless steels. 303 quality stainless steel is in the group of austenitic stainless steels.
This stainless steel grade is used almost everywhere we encounter it in our daily life. In addition to having a good corrosion resistance for its price, its machinability is close to perfect among stainless steels. 303 quality stainless steel is used in places where machinability and fast production are important, especially in serial production. 303 stainless steel, which comes to mind when mass production is mentioned, is especially used in bolt making, stainless screw production, stainless steel nut making, stainless steel shafts that will be mass produced, in the food industry, stainless shafts that require mass production, automotive gears and fasteners, electronic units and some special decorations. In short, stainless steel is used in its products, and 303 or 1.4305 stainless steel is frequently used wherever mass production is required.
