430 grade stainless steel is a low carbon and chromium-containing stainless steel grade that is classified as ferretic in terms of its properties. Weldability of 430 stainless materials is limited. On the other hand, 430 stainless steels are more affordable than 300 series stainless steels because they do not contain nickel and molybdenum. Stainless steels of this quality provide a good surface appearance on the materials used. Since 430 quality stainless steel materials do not contain nickel, they can become magnetized. 430 quality stainless steel is also called 1.4016 stainless steel.
The use of 430 stainless steel bar materials has been increasing rapidly in the world and in Turkey recently. It is not recommended to use materials of this quality on moving parts and parts where collisions occur. 430 stainless is processed in various ways and used in decorative structures, automotive industry, washing machines, applications where glossy surface is required, household appliances and kitchenware. Especially in dishwashers and refrigerators, 430 quality materials are frequently used.

Grade 430F is a sulphur-containing stainless steel grade. 1.4105, that is, 430F quality material, has a very good machinability value thanks to the sulfur it contains, and it is known as one of the best machinable stainless steels, surpassing 303 quality stainless steel in terms of machinability among stainless steels. This material is similar to grade 430 (1.4016) and we can also call it a version of 430 grade with added sulfur. On the other hand, the sulfur it contains reduces the corrosion resistance of the material, which is not already high. The corrosion resistance of 430F (1.4105) quality material is not very good.
430F quality material is generally used in transportation vehicles, electronic equipment, food production facilities and decorations.
